Down to the Wire

So here is where I was yesterday around 6pm. I had a head gasket leak that was squealing air. Re-heated the copper gasket, cooled it down and threw her back together. Adjusted the valves and kicked her over. Seems to be running rich and rocker oiler is leaking a little. But other than that, the new top end sounds awesome. Good idle and great revs. Have to fix rocker oiler leak, mess with carb a little, and hook up lights. After that, freeway test and if all goes well I will be riding this party machine over to Born Free tomorrow. Fingers crossed all works out today.

Motorcycle Attack

Here is a story abouta trip to Arizona that Josh and Shawn Bronson made. I believe it was in October of last year that Josh was headed out to AZ to meet up with Jeremiah from Love Cycles. He was picking up an Original 59' Panhead with a perfect frame. On the way home they got off the highway to grab some snacks and take a leak. When headed back to the highway a SUV with 3 passengers blows through a stop sign at they were guessing around 50mph. KABOOM! T BONE CITY! Bike was inside the van and now Josh, Shawn and the van are flipped over!. Funny thing is that there was no road on the other side of the van. These guys came barreling down a road that you had to go right or left on and they just blasted straight into the van and launched everbody into the dirt. Shawn got a broken back and Josh was okay. The other guys were all unscathed as well. Neddless to say, this bike has been through some tough days, but I was there last night to see her fire right up.

Afternoon Special

So I had to rebuild the top end on the 1960 pre unit. With a few tips from some buddies, Parts and help from Meatball, I was on my way to my 1st rebuild. Everything seemed to go together pretty smooth. Just need to find some time to get back in the shop and get some oil, fule, and a good kick to get her running. Fingers crossed that I did a good job. We will see.
