Back Home

Made it back from Gulf Shores Alabama this week and been catching up. There is always some cool or weird stuff when you visit the south.
Pickle Juice Popsicles

Shrimp Boats

Shrimp Festivals

Wall of Lunch boxes

Pink and Purple Sporty's

Desert Views on the way home

Was a good trip back to visit my family, but it is nice to be back in California.

Sporting Dinner

Fun for the kids! I think they need these out in Los Angeles:

I always laugh when I see these things down in Gulf Shores. I am feeling lucky and hope to bag me one, name it, then eat it! Yehwaww! Hopefully I can find some distant cousins to make out with! ahaha

Sweet Home

Alabama! Headed to the Shrimp Festival on a red eye flight tonight. Gonna have me some fried gator, cajun pistols, and shrimp gumbo. Gulf Shores here I come. Music food and fun.

And you can't go to Gulf shores without visiting The Flora-bama Lounge. This place sits on the state line between Florida and Alabama. Crazy Indoor/Outdoor Bar Beachy Venue type of thing. From Frozen Mudslides to live lobster games this redneck bar makes for some great people watching.

Everyone is yelling "Roll tide roll" or "War Eagles" Depending on what bar you were in you have to be carful which one you choose to say. Colleg Football is like religion down there.

Born Free from Chino

Was a busy week last week. Started with 3 bikes in pieces. Josh and Clayton worked 12hours a day for the last week to get their panheads ready for Born Free. I had to put a solid 4 days in on the Triumph since the top end rebuild. All was worth it because it was an awesome time and an amazing show. Thanks to Mike Davis, Grant, Classic cycles, and all that helped get this show together. Here are a couple shots from the phone over the weekend.

Congrats to Clayton for winning "The Best Panhead" Turned out awesome, you deserve it after all the hard times we gave you at the shop.

Down to the Wire

So here is where I was yesterday around 6pm. I had a head gasket leak that was squealing air. Re-heated the copper gasket, cooled it down and threw her back together. Adjusted the valves and kicked her over. Seems to be running rich and rocker oiler is leaking a little. But other than that, the new top end sounds awesome. Good idle and great revs. Have to fix rocker oiler leak, mess with carb a little, and hook up lights. After that, freeway test and if all goes well I will be riding this party machine over to Born Free tomorrow. Fingers crossed all works out today.

Classic Cycles

Looks like everyone who is anyone has come together to put on the best show of the year and/or maybe this decade. One for the record books that will be remembered for years. Classic Cycles in Orange CA is hosting this shin dig. Going to be good times. Get your old bike running and come out to meet and greet all the familiar faces and bikes.
